Part of a portfolio published by J.O. Lewis in Philadelphia 1835-1836, printed by Duval & Lehman. Published serially in sets of 8, there were originally supposed to be 10 editions, totalling 80 prints. Financial trouble prevented the 10th edition from being printed.
Peter S. Duval and George Lehman owned a lithographic company in Philadelphia from 1834 to 1837, after which time Lehman resigned and the company became P.S. Duval's Lithographic Service.
