Provenance W. H. Dancy made this chair ca. 1898. States that he made the chair with 64 horns to represent his age of 64 (1898). Mr. Dancy was a Union Veteran and a member of the GAR. He lived in Republic County, KS., which is NW of Manhattan, along the Nebraska border. The stool and chair were donated by sons of W. H. Dancy, W.H. Jr. and Ben Dancy both of Oklahoma City. Ben Dancy, son of W. H., served as Oklahoma County Sheriff.
