Object Name Cup & Saucer

Description The delicate cup is white with embossed decoration and painted pink flowers. The rim is decorated in gold. The cup is footed. On the bottom of the cup is a maker's mark and the words Germany and Elysee. The saucer has a raised design around the edge, trimmed in gold. There are pink swirls going toward the center of the saucer. The saucer has no marks on the bottom, leading one to question whether it is the original companion of the cup.

Provenance Item belonged to Mamie Lavonia Scott Hammonds, Executive Secretary to Gov. Henry S. Johnston, and who helped Mrs. Johnston to plan the Governor's House in the 1920s and who helped pick out the furniture. Mrs. Hammonds was active in political history of Oklahoma.
