Description Oil on canvas painting of Sequoyah holding his Cherokee syllabic alphabet tablet. He is seated wearing a two tone blue suit with a red scarf/necktie and a medallion around his neck. His head is adorned with a red turban with green, yellow, and white floral pattern. His right index finger is pointing to a letter on the tablet, while you see his fingers from his left hand wrap over the top of the tablet.
