Description Chair, wood. Ladder back with 3 slats, ball finials on back, post legs with 6 inch taper at feet. Seat is caned with stout bark or wood strips in a herringbone pattern. Wood unknown, maple stain.

Provenance Manufactured by Cherokees of wood harvested from floodwater of the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, Pensacola Dam. Dam construction 1938 - 1940, owners worked at the furniture factory ("place where the chairs were made"). Donor states that the chairs were acquired before 1943, giving a 3 year range for manufacture. Company name not identified. Donor's father, Miller Patterson, made the chair.
