Description Robot mechanical figure named Sharpo; metal, fabric, glass, wood, plastic; sits on a wooden platform; wooden and plastic control box with switches for control of movement; robot made predominately of metal with head made from a can and painted skin tone; body made of metal cylinder shapes painted red with 6 wooden buttons down front painted gold; shoulders have 1 wooden button on each with a tassel; white oil cloth belt with plastic white buckle on torso; metal jointed arms; hands are gloves stuffed with cotton; legs are metal painted white but not jointed; feet are shaped wooden blocks painted black and attached to the wooden platform; head has a red light bulb for a nose and clear bulbs for eyes; ears are metal and move; metal mouth opens and closes.

Provenance Made by a radio repairman; used for advertising at the county fair; he can shake hands, smoke a cigarette and point with one finger; Sharpo was deaccessioned by the Museum of the Great Plains and offered to the OHS in 1979
