Description Life-size, oil on canvas, portrait of Oklahoma Governor James Brooks Ayers (J.B.A.) Robertson in an ill-fitted wooden and plaster, gilded frame. Portrait depicts Robertson standing in front of a desk with his right hand on a stack of slightly rolled papers. Behind desk appears to be a fireplace and tiered mantle. Background is dark, with deep browns/brownish-burgundy, and grays. Gov. Robertson is wearing an early, black, twentieth century, three-piece suit that has a mid-thigh jacket--Gov. Robertson is wearing a gold vest chain, rich, plum tie, and a cream-colored (possibly once white), up-collared(?) dress shirt. He is wearing a gold wedding band on left ring finger.
